I am sure some people who attended the BET Awards was surprised and shock when they saw Janet (Michael Jackson’s sister) come out. As she approached the stage a strong ovation following her. Janet Jackson Bet Award 2009 , Janet had to take a bit of time to gather herself before she spoke out to the audience. But it amazes some people how she found the strength and courage to speak about her brother and show him the respect he deserved.
Janet Jackson made a tearful statement on Sunday night’s BET Awards in Los Angeles, paying tribute to her brother Michael. Janet was escorted on stage by host Jamie Foxx towards the end of the broadcast, and fighting back tears addressed the crowd.
“My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful,” Jackson said. “To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family and he will forever live in all of our hearts.
On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support.We miss him so much, thank you so much.”
The whole night was filled with tributes to the King of Pop. May he rest in peace.
